Prologue
Once upon a time in Durham, North Carolina, there lived a
lovely and spirited young woman named Rachel. She was a picture of
loveliness and poise. In addition she was intelligent, vivacious and
witty.
Her manner of dress enhanced her formidable good looks. She
possessed a stunning figure, a beautiful face and luxuriant black
hair. You could not avoid her eyes. Their color was a sparkling
Aegean Sea blue, sometimes tinted with a subtle shade of violet.
They tended toward violet when she was in a romantic mood, which was
quite often.
Rachel was a big hit with men. This pleased her because she
had an extraordinary passion for the opposite sex. In high school
she had her choice of boys. Through college and into young
womanhood, she enjoyed the attentions of many men. At an age when
most young women had married and settled down, Rachel was still
going strong.
In spite of having a college degree in a lucrative field and
excellent employment prospects, a career suitable to her talent had
not presented itself. She worked as the credit manager for a small
furniture store in Durham, North Carolina.
Rachel’s problem was motivation. She wasn’t interested in a
career or making a lot of money. She viewed her job as a means of
supporting her lifestyle as courtesan. Any extra concentration on
work would take a toll on her favorite form of recreation, which was
having a good time with men.
She received lots of expensive presents. Luxury items, like
jewelry and furs were gifts from men. If she fixed those lovely blue
eyes on the victim, smiled and stood a certain way, anything she
coveted was hers.
Just wanted to let
you know that Debbie enjoyed reading "The Deal" She said it was an
easy book to read. I can't tell you in an e-mail some other comments
she made and I doubt I could say it in person, so I guess it will
remain unsaid, unless Debbie decides to tell you and if you ever
meet her, she will!
I went by her shop
yesterday and her sister was reading "The Deal." I guess I'll get my
book back!!!

“A wicked sense of humor regarding sexual
matters—very direct. The dialog is lightning fast. Very refreshing.
I liked the way it roams around geographically.”
